Overview:           Jack De Caluwé is a Belgian-born creative director, designer, and filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon, where he works as Executive Creative Director at Instrument.

He grew up in a small town in Belgium and first trained in carpentry before finding his way into art and design. That early hands-on education still sits underneath much of his work: a belief in craft, atmosphere, and the emotional weight of small details.

Over the years, Jack’s practice has moved across graphic design, film, identity, and digital experience. His work often brings a quiet human quality to technology, creating digital spaces that feel less like systems and more like places with texture, feeling, and soul.

He is a member of D&AD in London and the Art Directors Club, and his film Down By Dawn has been shown in museums across Europe and Japan as part of the Forwarding Backyards exhibition curated by Meruro Washida (Museum of the 21th century, Kanazawa, Japan) and Thibaut Verhoeven (S.M.A.K., Ghent).
